   Et­was volks­tüm­li­cher, oh­ne War­te­li­ste, un­ter frei­em Fir­ma­ment mit phan­ta­sti­schem Meer- & Ha­fen­blick gibts die ge­nuß­rei­che Zer­mo­nie im Reid’s Pa­lace Ho­tel zu Fun­chal:

    
   The cu­s­tom of ci­vi­li­sed tea drin­king be­longs to the gre­at tra­di­ti­ons of man­kind. Tea and por­ce­lain teacups we­re be­ing pro­du­ced in Chi­na as ear­ly as 3,500 BC...
    
   In Eu­ro­pe, af­ter­noon tea be­ca­me a fa­shionable so­cial event in the 1840s, 200 ye­ars af­ter the first tea was brought from Chi­na. And it be­ca­me a tru­ly Bri­tish in­sti­tu­ti­on and tra­di­ti­on which Reid’s Pa­lace Ho­tel has plea­su­re in con­ti­nuing in the Lounge and on the Ter­race...

   Das klingt in der Tat nach ei­ner eben­so at­trak­ti­ven wie preiswerte(re)n Al­ter­na­ti­ve, und weil wir oh­ne­hin schon mal über ei­nen Ur­laub auf Ma­dei­ra nach­ge­dacht ha­ben, will ich Dir die Wer­bung für das Ho­tel ger­ne durch­ge­hen las­sen... Viel­leicht fän­de ich dort auch Mu­ße und Ge­le­gen­heit, das mir ge­lie­he­ne (und im­mer noch im Le­se­sta­pel ar­chi­vier­te) Buch end­lich zu gou­tie­ren! ;-)
